JAVA ISLAND
JakartaAmaris Tangerang airport (***). Convenient location near the airport if you don’t need to visit the city itself.

Kamar-Kamar hostel (**). Simple hostel in Jakarta South, there is much work to be done.

Maven Hotel: (***). Spacious room, good service and helpfull staff. The breakfast in a buffet style is large. Located in South Jakarta.

JogjakartaEdu Hostel (****). Cheap, well managed, private or shared rooms and a small swimming pool on the rooftop. Visited 3 times.

Bromo areaSion View Lodge (*). Dirty blankets and dirty toilet. We got to use our own bed cover. We were brought there from a tour package.

Kawah Ijen area: Catimor Homestay (*) Not options for breakfast, really basic accommodation. We were brought there from a tour package.

BALI
Ubud: Bella Villa (***). Not really in the center of the city. Bad illuminated to go back at night. Good breakfast and good pool in a calm area.

Nani House 2 (****). The price is excellent for what you get. The location is right in the center of Ubud in a hidden alley. The familiar room was spacious as well as the toilet. The breakfast jaffles tasted really good.

Jati 3 (***). The pool, the rooms and the breakfast are satisfying, but they changed the management and it used to be all better organised some years ago.

Gerhana Sari 2 (*****) The best accommodation in Ubud. Clean, kind family, safe and in a green spot. The rating in Booking.com says it all. I lived there during 4 months.

Arjuna House 2 (**).  Humid and dirty blankets. Good breakfast and lovely family but still really careless place.

LovinaGede Homestay (***). Tranquil atmosphere by the beach in Desa Anturan. The fish dinners are worth it. Standard homestay owned by a loving family.

Bayu Mantra Bungalows (****). Huge garden, calm location and privacy. The rooms and the breakfast are good.

Canggu:The calmtree bungalows (*****). Latest discovery. Wooden furniture, cozy bungalow, open toilet, great breakfast options, swimming pool and not far from Batu Bolong beach. Highly recommended.

Putu guest house 2 (***). The woman taking care of the homestay is very nice. They live beside the homestay but they respect the privacy of the guests. The location in Berawa beach is excellent. No brekfast is included but there are some cafes very near. The bed is huge but the toilet needs some reparation and painting.

Seminyak: Favehotel Seminyak (***). Good service, smiling staff but not cozy because it’s built in a massive structure (doesn’t fit Bali style).

Kuta and Legian: Agung Cottages (***). Far from the excellence but yet many different types of room in a Balinese decoration. It has a swimming pool it’s at the heart of Kuta. Cannot book online.

Matahari bungalows (***). Located in the center of Kuta and near the party area but in a mute alley. It has a garden and a swimming pool. The rooms and the breakfast are rather simple.

Kayun Hostel (***). Good rooms with bed bunks perfect for groups of friends. The location is in Kuta but a little bit more far from the main party.

Balangan: Flower Bud bungalows (****). The bungalows all in wood are really cozy. The open toilet and shower are unforgettable. The location is 5 minutes from Balangan beach and the gardens and the pool make it very tranquil. The breakfast is large but would be amazing with more options. It’s an accommodation with a lot of potential but still far from the excellence.

Nusa Lembongan: Radya Homestay (***).  Well equipped rooms in a calm street. Everything is good except the Wifi that doesn’t seem to run all over the island.

Sanur: Abian Kokoro (**). Poor management, it could be better with more professional staff. Near the beach.

Amed:Bali Sari homestay (****).  Good price for what you get. Clean rooms, good toilets, the towels smell good and the banana pancake breakfast with fruit is awesome. Nice area to snorkel, diving and explore in the beach. Some of the staff working there was annoying.

LOMBOK
Senggigi: Raja’s Bungalow (****). Lovely Mediterranean blue decoration. Simple rooms with nets and open toilet. Great breakfast and funny owners. Sometimes they organise dinners with good traditional food.

Gerupuk: Sea Monkeys hostel and cafe (**). Common backpackers home stay, not clean and far from the beach area to swim.

Gili Trawangan

Big Bubble Dive (***). Standard cottages near the beach and one of the party areas in Gili Trawangan. The terrace outside is nice.

Rose Homestay (****). Anto the owner takes care himself of everything. The rooms are bright, the price is okay and he prepares the breakfast with care. We changed from another home stay to stay at this one.

Drupadi (***). The cottages in wood are cozy and the service is good. The toilet is small but enough and the only bad thing from then is that a family of cats invaded the accommodation and were all around.

Dream divers resort(***). Despite the fact that they offer rooms to anyone, they are focused on diving courses so it makes it a bit messy. The breakfast is included but they send the guests to the home stay next plot.

Kidi’s Family Bungalow (*). Extremely poor managed. We had a booking and when we arrived all was full, they didn’t took care of the reservation and we had to find another place.

Gili Air: Oceans 5 (*****). Good atmosphere, in front of the harbour, near transparent beaches, good management. Options for diving.

FLORES
Moni (Kelimutu area): Bintang Lodge (***). Guitar night before the Keli Mutu trekking. Cold water, poor bedrooms but funny owners.

Bela and Bena area: Villa Silverina (*). Old hotel with really austere services and broken nets.

Ruteng: Hotel Rima (**). It’s very old and run-down but enough for a sleep over.

Labuanbajo:Gardena Hotel (***). The best is the views of the bay from the top. They have many rooms and is very near the harbour. Modest facilities and cleaning.

Chez Felix (***). Budget home stay owned by a Flores family.

Komodo and Rinca: Boat night with Komodo Diving Paradise  (***) It cannot be considered an accommodation because we slept in the deck and only with a thin matrass but it’s all about the adventure at the sea. Food included and really recommended experience.
