Canggu on any given day
The wake up-workout
If you are an active person you can exercise running at the beach or skirting the rice paddies. Since Canggu is a little bit hidden and not major roads cross the town you can walk safely in the street. The experienced surfers would choose to catch waves then, during early morning.
The morning meal
Don’t panic if the breakfast is not included in the place you stay at. Some small warungs sell Indonesian breakfast options and for those who prefer Western food, Ruko Cafe, among others, serves juices, warm coffees, brownies, croissants, toasts and many veggie sandwiches.
Surfing and swimming
Canggu can be pretty much surfed all year round. Swimming in Berawa beach or Batu Bolong beach during high tide can be dangerous. The best time to swim safely and to learn and to practice surf is between 11 and 3pm.
The food break
That’s one of the happiest moments of the day. Canggu is quiet and is not as busy as Seminyak but there are a large number of places to eat. A few of them are fancy restos like Monsieur Spoon or cafes that offer fusion cuisine such as La Finca.
The Betelnut cafe, Avocado Cafe and Green Ginger are a very good option for vegetarians and healhty-eaters. You will find bits for every kind of stomach.
The sunset prophecy
The beaches in that area are empty and large so you can place your towel, lay down and read a book until the sun sets.
Deus Ex Machina is a bohemian temple where people can go to have some drinks until midnight.
If you want to hang out for dinner, pay a visit to Seminyak and especially to Jalan Petitenget.
Naps and dreams in Canggu
There are many nice bungalows and home stays. We especially recommend to stay near Batu Bolong and Berawa beaches. You will be able to walk to anywhere without having to worry about transport.
